Samaritan’s Purse Project – Late Oct. / Early Nov.

October 29, 2022  |  Florida or Kentucky

I have had several people approach me about opportunities to help thru Samaritans Purse Disaster Relief. There are still opportunities to volunteer for clean up in both Kentucky from the flooding and in Florida from the hurricane. Unlike the rebuild project which are weeklong projects, the clean up projects are 3 day projects (plus travel) which makes them a little more doable for most. If you are interested and able to do a volunteer clean up project thru Samaritans Purse please let me know. If Crossroads can get a team of 4-8 volunteers I will look at scheduling a Thursday, Friday, Saturday for late October or early November.

Here are some facts to help you:

* we will depart from and return to Crossroads
* we will try to travel in one or two vehicles so we will need a few volunteers with reliable transportation and who can transport at least 4 in your vehicle. Crossroads will cover the fuel expense.
* Samaritans Purse provides for a place to sleep and food during your time of serving
– you will need to bring a sleeping bag, a cot or air mattress if you want off the floor
– you will be provided breakfast, lunch & supper (you are well fed)
* this trip is for guys and gals. Sleeping arrangements will have all guys in one area or building      and all gals in another area or building
*this will be mostly a clean up trip so don’t think you have to be mechanical or have other certain skills. This is for any and all skill levels.
* Samaritans Purse will provide shower facilities and restroom facilities.
* there will be either morning devotional or evening devotionals….sometimes both
* as of now, you are not required to have covid test proof
